Patient Group
The aim of the Patient Group is to foster a good relationship between patients and the Cathedral Medical Group (CMG). It is independent, run by patients, and free to represent the views of patients and carers in discussions with the Cathedral Medical Group. Please find the current Terms of Reference (TOR) for our Patient Group.
Use the yellow boxes below to find out more:
Objectives
- To improve relations with the practice by providing the patient perspective.
- To promote health matters.
- To improve communication between patients and the practice.
- To help the practice improve services to meet patient needs.
- To raise funds to support these objectives.
Committee
A Patient Group Committee is elected at the annual general meeting to liaise with the Cathedral Medical Group. The Patient Group operates as a Patient Participation Group and Committee Members attend NHS consultative groups to represent the views of CMG patients. The committee also organises fundraising to support the work of the Patient Group and to provide additional resources to benefit patients.
Please note that the committee cannot deal with concerns or complaints involving individual patients, as there are established procedures for such matters.
Fundraising
The Patient Group is not funded, so we need to fundraise to meet any costs involved in running the group. Those costs are kept low, so any additional funds are used to improve facilities at the practice for the benefit of all patients.
Do you have something to say?
The Committee would like to hear your views, as information from patients will help us to improve services at the Cathedral Medical Group. The annual Cathedral Medical Group Patient Survey is an effective way of gathering patient views, so we would urge you to respond when it is next available.
Get in touch
Patients can get in touch with the the committee by email or letter (please do not use this for personal patient issues or complaints)
Email: patientgroupcmg@gmail.com (This email address is for contacting The Patient Group ONLY)
Letter: addressed to “The Patient Group”, left at reception, or posted to “The Patient Group, Cathedral Medical Group, Cawley Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1XT”.
The red suggestion box in the waiting room can also be used to give us your views.
Keep in touch
To improve communication with you we want to build an email circulation list of patients who we can consult on specific issues. The more people on the list, the better we can reflect your views. We can also keep you updated on developments
To add your name to the circulation list please email the Patient Group with your full name and email address, and say that you wish your email address to be added (patientgroupcmg@gmail.com).
Please note that your email address will only be used by the Patient Group to seek your views and to keep you informed. This will be kept separate from any contact details that you have supplied to Cathedral Medical Group.
If you decide to leave the circulation list, simply send us an email and we will remove you from the list.
Please note that the Patient Group Committee has no access to medical records or patient details.
